Praha Print provides custom CNC thermal cutting of EPS expanded polystyrene and XPS extruded polystyrene. The process uses a heated resistance wire, also called hot-wire or melt-wire cutting. The service does not claim certification for structural, food, pharmaceutical or regulated packaging applications unless confirmed in a specific quotation. ### Production data Preferred data is a closed 2D vector contour at 1:1 scale with dimensions in millimetres. DXF, SVG or PDF are preferred. AI, EPS and CDR are also accepted; text should be converted to outlines. State the EPS/XPS material, thickness, quantity, intended use and required date. A JPG, PNG or sketch can be redrawn as paid artwork preparation. A standard hot-wire cut follows a 2D outline through the material thickness. Enclosed openings require a wire entry and may leave a narrow groove; on painted products this can be filled and hand-smoothed. Cavities, undercuts and complex free-form 3D surfaces are assessed individually for manufacturability. ### Complementary 3D printing Praha Print also provides custom 3D printing for cavities, reliefs, undercuts, small technical components and detailed prototypes that cannot be produced with a through hot-wire cut. The maximum build volume for one part is 390 × 390 × 340 mm. Larger models can be split into several parts and assembled when the design allows it. Multi-colour printing is available. Supported filaments include PLA, ABS, ASA, PETG, TPU, PA, PC, and carbon- or glass-fibre-reinforced polymers. The exact material, colours and their placement, part division, surface finish, manufacturability and price are confirmed after reviewing the 3D data and intended use. No price is published for 3D printing because it depends on the model, material and production settings. ### Materials and dimensions - EPS: light and economical, with a visible bead structure; used for inserts, models, decorations, event elements and short-term installations. - XPS, also called styrodur: stronger and fine-textured, with lower moisture absorption; used for detailed or more demanding parts and longer-term signs. - Maximum overall project format: up to 10 m long, 3 m high and 3 m thick. The achievable format is confirmed for each job according to geometry, material, manufacturing method, segmentation, handling and transport. Large objects can be made as accurately matching sections and assembled on site. - Letter calculator range per character: 1–200 cm width, 1–200 cm height and 1–60 cm thickness. - Indicative cutting accuracy: ±1 mm depending on shape and material. ### Indicative prices excluding VAT - CNC cutting of XPS: CZK 45 per dm³. Material is included. - CNC cutting of EPS: CZK 31.50 per dm³, 30% below XPS. Material is included. - Graphic preparation: CZK 499 for qualifying orders below CZK 5,000 excluding VAT according to the calculator conditions. - RAL painting: 100% of the cutting price, minimum CZK 500. The same shade on front and sides counts as one colour. Each additional colour costs at least CZK 500 per order; the final price depends on the order. - Filling hot-wire entry grooves: CZK 80 per affected character up to and including 30 × 30 × 10 cm; CZK 150 when any dimension is exceeded. Charged only for characters that require an entry cut and available with the painted finish. - Installation template: 30% of the sum of cutting and graphic preparation. - Express production within 3 days: 30% surcharge on the confirmed order price. - Delivery is calculated separately by dimensions and destination.
